History of the Ascettes

The Ascettes was founded by Carol Morgan, Allied Transmission in Bellingham in 1985, during the early years of ASC (Automotive Service Council - now called Automotive Service Association).  The basic goal of the Ascettes was to provide an active participation program for the women who were attending the ASC events with their husbands.

During the next few years the Ascettes drew in women who were involved in the family automotive businesses, and in related businesses, and those who worked outside the automotive field, but who attended and supported the ASC events.  These women were interested in becoming an integral part of the association.

When ASC became Automotive Service Association of Washington (ASA-WA), the Ascettes group continued to grow and to provide a means of involvement for the women from fund raising to legislative support.  They attended unit meetings and quarterly state retreats and seminars on a regular basis.

The purpose of the Ascettes continues to be to support both the local ASA-WA units and the ASA-WA State Office encouraging educational opportunities for ASA-WA members and their families, and to help with raising funds when needed.

The Ascettes group of ASA-WA is a division of the State, in the same manner as mechanical, collision, and transmission.  The Ascettes have been involved with on-going fund raising events to provide equipment for the state office and setting up an ASA-WA scholarship fund which they now 2 scholarships of $500 each year.

The Ascettes share friendship; networking; opinions; and talents; and most importantly have fun.
