1997 Outstanding Member of the Year *** Jerry Saling

Jerry Saling

Jerry Saling, owner of Ray's Truck Service in Spokane, was named ASA-WA's Outstanding Member of the Year 1997.  This award was presented to Jerry by ASA-WA's President Ed Cushman.

Jerry joins his father Ray Saling, ASA-WA Outstanding Member of the Year of 1978, as the first father and son recipients to receive this prestigious award.  In 1978 when Jerry was president of ASA-WA he presented his own father with the Outstanding Member of the Year Award.

Jerry has always been very active and supportive of ASA-WA.  After serving in the U.S. Navy, he began working at Ray's in the mid 60s.  His involvement in the Spokane ASA Unit included Treasurer, Vice President and President. 

On the state level, Jerry served ASA-WA in the capacity of Treasurer, Chairman-Elect and in 1978-79 he completed a term as the Chairman of the Board.  Together with his wife Barb, they attend most ASA local, state and national functions.
