ASA-WA 19th Annual Golf Tournament

The Automotive Service Association of Washington just held it's 19th annual golf tournament August 10th at Elk Run golf course in Covington. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this event!!!
The morning started with the Putting Contest, sponsored by Acura of Bellevue and then onto a 10am cannon start. First place winner in the putting contest was John Hulse, Pat McCluskey was the 2nd place winner, and Phil Nordstrom was the 3rd place winner.
We would like to thank our golf committee, volunteers, staff, and all of our generous sponsors, who helped make this such a successful golf tournament.

Semi-Annual Retreat & Management Conference
June 23-26, 2011 in Vancouver, WA - The Heathman Lodge 
The Automotive Service Association of Washington (ASA-WA) members recently met in Vancouver, Washington for our semi-annual retreat and management conference.
We started out the retreat with either a free day or golfing on Thursday.












On Friday, we had the Board of Director’s meeting, followed by the General business session and the Ascettes business meeting. That evening we traveled down to “Big Al’s” in Vancouver for an evening filled with a Western BBQ buffet, followed by 2 hours of games. Bowling, Arcade games, Billiards, and Shuffle Board. Big Al’s has something for everyone and every age.
On Saturday morning, we were fortunate to have Bill Haas, Vice President, Training and Education as our AMI approved speaker with the topic of “Marketing Automotive Service to Generations X and Y. Bill enlightened all the members who attended this class.
After the AMI Seminar, Pat Jollota joined us as our guest speaker. Pat gave us a history overview of Vancouver, Washington and informed us that the first Kaiser automobile was built in Vancouver.
Following lunch the Mechanical and Collision roundtable was held and the Ascettes traveled into Vancouver to the Firehouse Glass for an awesome demonstration!

ASA-WA Summer Retreat & Management Conference
ASA-WA members recently met in Richland, Washington for our semi-annual retreat and management conference.
The retreat began on Thursday with a golf outing and free day,
and was capped off as members joined the "Hogs & Dogs" event at the Bombing Range Sparts Complex in West Richland.
On Friday we had the Board of Director's meeting and the Mechanical/Collision Roundtable. During the time that the roundtable was being conducted, the Ascettes enjoyed a "Tea Party" and a leisurely game of croquet in the courtyard.
We then closed the evening out with our "Famous Hospitality Suite".
On Saturday morning we were fortunate to have Beau Hamilton as our speaker for the AMI seminar with the topic of "Manage the Numbers" Beau enlightened all the members who attended this class. After the AMI seminar Ken Hohenberg, the Kennewick Chief of Police, joined us as our guest speaker for lunch.
Following lunch, the General Business Session was held and during this session, Brian Johnson, the Chairman of the Board, presented Bryan Kelley, Valley Automotive Electric in Maple Valley, with the 2010 Summer Hunt Endownment.
Following lunch, the Ascettes business meeting was also held, with a lot of business being accomplished at both meetings.
On Saturday evening we had a BBQ event in the hotel courtyard which included games for all.
"We are very fortunate to have a great group of members willing to take time away from their businesses to join us at the Summer Retreat. If you were unable to join us for this event, please mark your calendar for the Winter Retreat in Leavenworth, January 27-30, 2011", said Jeff Lovell, President/Executive Director.
